Finding the Perfect Name for the App

Admin

Developing my app, Bastion - Secure Vaults, was a significant challenge. Building an Android app and taking it all the way to production requires more than just coding skills; it involves keeping several different platforms in sync—from the Git repository and commit logs to the Google Play Store tracks and ticket management systems.

It soon became clear that there was a need for a tool that could act as the "glue" between these various platforms. I realized that building a tool to bridge these gaps would be both a fun and rewarding challenge.

But before a single line of code could be written or a design note jotted down, the project needed a name. To me, naming a project feels like its official birth.

My first approach was to experiment with common industry terms. I tried mixing words related to Android development and productivity, like "droid," "android," "hub," and "dev." While these combinations technically described the project, most of them were already taken. Every time I checked a name against the web or a WHOIS database, I hit a dead end.

I decided to change my strategy and think about what the tool actually achieves: it brings all the underlying platforms into sync, making them "vibrate" at the same frequency.

That is how I found the name Synton.

The name perfectly matches the goal of the tool, and since the domain name was available, it was a perfect match.
